HYMNS FROM THE BLAZING CHARIOT VIDEO PREMIERE

The new music video directed by award-winning filmmaker Jacen Tan will premiere at The Substation on 7th Dec 2009, 8pm.

Based on the song's lyrics and concept, the explosive music video is a re-imagination of the ancient Sanskrit text 'The Bhagavad Gita', one of the most important philosophical classics of the world. It is a dream come true to make this video, which is a great visual representation of Rudra's music. The video interweaves brutal band performances with storyline battle scenes, created with visual effects compositing and computer animation.

Rudra has finally completed the pre-production of their yet to be titled album which will be the 2nd instalment to the Brahmavidya trilogy. The songs have so much of Brahmavidya: Primordial I & Kurukshetra in them. Shiva is still relentlessly pounding his drums as hell and Devan has contributed nasty vedic metal riffs into this one which will sure make all you faithful ones drool. Rudra will not be playing any shows till the album is completed. The band will be taking a short break after the recording which will commence next month. Soon after the break, Rudra are planning to complete songs for the 3rd instalment of the Brahmavidya trilogy, which will be a more east-meets-west fusion like vedic metal/rock. Look out for more updates!

Shiva, Selvam & Kathir are pleased to invite their long time friend Devan to the ranks. Devan will be a welcome addition to the Rudra Horde and who will contribute in the songwriting process for the next two albums.
These were Devan's words when asked of his feelings about joining Rudra: "I feel honoured and proud to be given an opportunity to join the ranks of one of Singapore's best, who are pioneers of Vedic Metal. I am looking forward to playing good music with good friends whom I have known for years. Being a fan of Vedic Metal from its heydays, I have always been fascinated about playing metal with ethnic elements incorporated. Metal becomes more relevant to me this way when the aggression, emotions and darkness are amplified tenfold."

29 March 2007
